Spirit Without Measure
God gave the Spirit to Moses' seventy elders in measured portions — taking from the Spirit on Moses and distributing it among them.
Old Testament
Numbers 11:17
I will come down and speak with you there, and I will take some of the power of the Spirit that is on you and put that Spirit on them.
New Testament
John 3:34
For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.
Why This Matters
God gave the Spirit to Moses' seventy elders in measured portions — taking from the Spirit on Moses and distributing it among them. But Jesus received the Spirit without any such limit. John declares that God gives the Spirit to His Son without measure, setting Him apart from every prophet and leader who came before.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, as I study Spirit Without Measure, anchor my identity in You, the promised King revealed from Numbers 11:17 to John 3:34.
