Lesson 152KingdomProphetic Pattern

Scattered Children Gathered

Hosea foresaw the day when the scattered would be called God's people again.

Old Testament

Hosea 2:2

Say of your brothers, "My people," and of your sisters, "My loved one."

New Testament

John 11:52

He prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

Why This Matters

Hosea foresaw the day when the scattered would be called God's people again. John reveals that Jesus died to gather all of God's scattered children — Jew and Gentile — into one family.

Reflection

Lord, the kingdom You promised in Hosea 2:2 is breaking in through John 11:52. Make me a faithful citizen of that kingdom today.
