Lesson 53MinistryDirect Prophecy

Open Blind Eyes

Isaiah prophesied that God's Servant would open the eyes of the blind and free captives from darkness.

Old Testament

Isaiah 42:7

to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.

New Testament

John 9:25

He replied, "Whether he is a sinner or not, I don't know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!"

Why This Matters

Isaiah prophesied that God's Servant would open the eyes of the blind and free captives from darkness. When Jesus healed the man born blind in John 9, the man's testimony was simple and powerful: 'I was blind but now I see.' Jesus' miracles were not random acts of power—they were signs fulfilling Isaiah's vision of a world set free from darkness.

Reflection

Savior, open my eyes to the people around me. As You fulfilled Isaiah 42:7 in John 9:25, make me faithful in small acts of love.
