New covenant promise applied to Messianic era; Jer 31:33-34 also cited in Yalkut
This lesson explores how Jeremiah 31:31 connects to Jesus.
"The days are coming," declares the LORD, "when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah."
In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you."

New covenant promise applied to Messianic era; Jer 31:33-34 also cited in Yalkut
Jeremiah declared that God would one day make a new covenant—not like the one at Sinai that the people broke. At the Last Supper, Jesus took the cup and said, 'This is the new covenant in my blood.' The old covenant was written on stone tablets; the new covenant is sealed with Jesus' own blood and written on human hearts. Jeremiah's hope became reality at a table in Jerusalem.
Lord, the kingdom You promised in Jeremiah 31:31 is breaking in through Luke 22:20. Make me a faithful citizen of that kingdom today.
