Jeweled Foundations
Isaiah promised that God would rebuild His afflicted city with precious stones.
Old Testament
Isaiah 54:11
Afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted, I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise, your foundations with lapis lazuli.
New Testament
Revelation 21:19
The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone.
Why This Matters
Isaiah promised that God would rebuild His afflicted city with precious stones. Revelation describes the new Jerusalem with foundations of every precious stone — the afflicted city has become the eternal city of God.
Reflection
King eternal, let the promise in Isaiah 54:11 fulfilled in Revelation 21:19 stir in me longing for Your return and the restoration of all things.
