I Am the Light
Isaiah called God's people to rise because their light had come.
Old Testament
Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.
New Testament
John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Why This Matters
Isaiah called God's people to rise because their light had come. Jesus declared Himself that light — the glory of the LORD in human form. Those who follow Him walk in the light Isaiah anticipated.
Reflection
Lord Jesus, shape my daily life after Your ministry. As Isaiah 60:1 meets John 8:12, teach me to serve with compassion and truth.
