Why This Matters

Isaiah described the Servant being taken away by oppression and judgment, cut off from the land of the living. The Ethiopian eunuch was reading this very passage when Philip met him on the desert road. Philip explained that this was about Jesus—unjustly condemned, killed for others' transgressions. The ancient prophecy became the gateway to faith for a man from the ends of the earth.

Reflection

Lamb of God, keep the cross central in my heart. Let Isaiah 53:8 fulfilled in Acts 8:33 shape my worship and repentance.
