Throne of David Forever
God's promise to David was breathtaking: his throne would last forever.
2 Samuel 7:16
Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.
Luke 1:32-33
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob's descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.
God's promise to David was breathtaking: his throne would last forever. No human dynasty could keep that promise. But when Gabriel told Mary that her son would inherit David's throne and reign without end, the ancient covenant found its fulfillment. Jesus is the eternal King David was promised—the one whose kingdom outlasts every earthly empire.
Father, You kept every genealogical promise. Let 2 Samuel 7:16 fulfilled in Luke 1:32-33 assure me that Your word never fails.
