Lesson 182PassionMessianic Psalm

They Look and Stare

The psalmist described being stared at and gloated over.

Old Testament

Psalm 22:17

I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me.

New Testament

Luke 23:35

The people stood watching, and the rulers even sneered at him. They said, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is God's Messiah, the Chosen One."

Why This Matters

The psalmist described being stared at and gloated over. Luke records the crowd watching and sneering at Jesus on the cross. Every detail of Psalm 22 was lived out in Christ's crucifixion.

Reflection

Crucified Savior, let They Look and Stare humble me. Teach me to hate sin, love holiness, and trust Your mercy fully.
