The Righteous Ruler
David spoke of a coming righteous ruler appointed by God.
Old Testament
2 Samuel 23:3
He said concerning the God of Israel, the Rock of Israel spoke to me: "He who rules over people must be just, ruling in the fear of God."
New Testament
John 5:28
Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out.
Why This Matters
David spoke of a coming righteous ruler appointed by God. Jesus declared He would exercise the ultimate act of righteous rule — calling the dead from their graves.
Reflection
Lord, the kingdom You promised in 2 Samuel 23:3 is breaking in through John 5:28. Make me a faithful citizen of that kingdom today.
