Talmud (Keth. 112b) applies holy seed/stump to Messianic times
Isaiah saw that even after devastating judgment, a holy seed — a stump — would remain.
And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.
So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
Isaiah saw that even after devastating judgment, a holy seed — a stump — would remain. Paul identifies this as the remnant chosen by grace, preserved through Christ. God's people are never fully cut off.
Lord of the future, as I study The Holy Remnant, anchor my hope not in circumstances but in Your coming reign.
