Payne #18 — Ps 110:1
Lord says to my Lord: sit at my right hand; Payne notes Jesus' use of this in Matt 22:44 as self-identification
This lesson explores how Psalm 110:1 connects to Jesus.
The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."
For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, "The Lord said to my Lord: 'Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.'"

Midrash Tehillim cited; Matt 22:43-45 — David calls Him Lord in the Spirit; also #32 Seated at Right Hand
In Psalm 110, David called someone 'my Lord' and described God inviting that person to sit at his right hand. Peter pointed out that David never ascended to heaven himself—so he must have been speaking of a greater Lord to come. Jesus' ascension and exaltation to God's right hand fulfilled David's prophecy, confirming his authority over all creation.
