Lesson 121ResurrectionProphetic Pattern

Mouths Filled with Laughter

The psalmist celebrated the overwhelming joy of restoration after exile.

Old Testament

Psalm 126:2

When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.

New Testament

John 16:22

So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.

Why This Matters

The psalmist celebrated the overwhelming joy of restoration after exile. Jesus promises His followers the same pattern — present grief will give way to a joy that no one can take away.

Reflection

Risen Jesus, fill me with resurrection hope. Through Mouths Filled with Laughter, teach me to live in the light of Your victory.
