Lesson 162IdentityDirect Prophecy

Lion of Judah

Jacob blessed Judah as a lion's cub whose brothers would bow before him.

Old Testament

Genesis 49:8

Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow down to you. You are a lion's cub, Judah.

New Testament

Revelation 5:5

Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals."

Why This Matters

Jacob blessed Judah as a lion's cub whose brothers would bow before him. Revelation identifies Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah — the one who has triumphed and alone is worthy to open God's sealed scroll.

Reflection

Jesus, teach me to trust who You are, not just what I feel. Let Genesis 49:8 and Revelation 5:5 deepen my confidence in Your name.
