God will provide the lamb connected to Messianic redemption; Isaac as type of Messiah in Talmud and Midrash
This lesson explores how Genesis 22:8 connects to Jesus.
Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together.
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"

God will provide the lamb connected to Messianic redemption; Isaac as type of Messiah in Talmud and Midrash
When Isaac asked his father where the sacrifice was, Abraham answered with prophetic trust: 'God himself will provide the lamb.' Centuries later, John the Baptist pointed to Jesus and declared him the Lamb of God. Abraham's faith-filled words on Mount Moriah found their ultimate answer at the Jordan River—God did provide, and the Lamb he gave takes away the sin of the entire world.
Christ our King, when my identity feels uncertain, remind me that Your promises in Genesis 22:8 stand fulfilled in John 1:29.
