Lesson 87ResurrectionDirect Prophecy

Everlasting Covenant

Isaiah invited the people into an everlasting covenant rooted in God's faithful love promised to David.

Old Testament

Isaiah 55:3

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.

New Testament

Acts 13:34

God raised him from the dead so that he will never be subject to decay. As God has said, 'I will give you the holy and sure blessings promised to David.'

Why This Matters

Isaiah invited the people into an everlasting covenant rooted in God's faithful love promised to David. Paul declared that Jesus' resurrection secured those promises forever—because the risen Christ will never decay, the blessings of David's covenant are now sure and permanent. The resurrection is not just a miracle; it is the guarantee that God's ancient promises will never expire.

Reflection

Lord of Life, where I feel weary, breathe new courage into me. Let Isaiah 55:3 and Acts 13:34 remind me death is not the end.
