See, I will send the prophet Elijah to you before that great and dreadful day of the LORD comes. He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children, and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike the land with total destruction.

Which Old Testament reference connects to this lesson?
Malachi closed the Old Testament with a promise that Elijah would return before the great day of the Lord. Jesus declared that John the Baptist was the Elijah who was to come. John did not come with Elijah's fire, but with his Spirit and power—calling families and a nation to repentance, turning hearts back to God, preparing the way for the day of salvation.
Jesus, send me with Your heart for people. Let Elijah Will Come move me from admiration into obedience.
