Jeremiah prophesied that God would raise up David their king.
Old Testament
Jeremiah 30:9
They will serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
New Testament
Luke 1:32
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.
Why This Matters
Jeremiah prophesied that God would raise up David their king. Gabriel announced Jesus as the Son of the Most High who receives David's throne. Christ is the David whom God raises up for His people.
Reflection
Lord, the line from Jeremiah 30:9 to Luke 1:32 reminds me that You work through real families and real history. Ground my faith in Your covenant.
