Why This Matters

Isaiah prophesied that the Servant would be numbered with the transgressors—counted among criminals. At the crucifixion, Jesus was placed between two rebels, literally numbered among lawbreakers. He who had no sin was treated as if he were the worst of sinners, fulfilling Isaiah's words and taking on the full weight of human guilt.
