Which New Testament passage fulfills this prophecy in this lesson?
Part 2 - Fill In The Blank
Why This Matters
Hosea looked back at the Exodus, calling Israel God's son brought out of Egypt. Matthew saw a deeper meaning when the infant Jesus was taken to Egypt to escape Herod's massacre, then called back after Herod died. Jesus relived Israel's story in his own life—he is the true Son whom God called out of Egypt, the faithful Israel who would succeed where the nation had failed.
Reflection
Lord, the line from Hosea 11:1 to Matthew 2:15 reminds me that You work through real families and real history. Ground my faith in Your covenant.
