River of Life
Ezekiel saw a river flowing from the temple, bringing life wherever it flowed.
Old Testament
Ezekiel 47:9
Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.
New Testament
Revelation 22:2
On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
Why This Matters
Ezekiel saw a river flowing from the temple, bringing life wherever it flowed. Revelation shows this river in the new Jerusalem — the river of life with the tree of life healing the nations. What Ezekiel glimpsed, Christ fulfills.
Reflection
Jesus, Ruler of all nations, through River of Life expand my vision beyond this passing age to the world You are making new.
