Lesson 142IdentityDirect Prophecy

He Who Draws Near

Jeremiah foresaw a ruler arising from His own people who draws near to God.

Old Testament

Jeremiah 30:21

Their leader will be one of their own; their ruler will arise from among them. I will bring him near and he will come close to me — for who is he who will devote himself to be close to me?

New Testament

Hebrews 7:25

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Why This Matters

Jeremiah foresaw a ruler arising from His own people who draws near to God. Hebrews reveals Christ as this mediator — one of us yet close to God, always living to intercede for those who come through Him.

Reflection

Jesus, teach me to trust who You are, not just what I feel. Let Jeremiah 30:21 and Hebrews 7:25 deepen my confidence in Your name.
